Today I thought I'd make a spring make-up tutorial. Instead of a regular video tutorial I decided to make a photo-tutorial. It's a lot quicker to make and gives you a detailed look at all the steps. I only used drugstore make-up for this look so you can recreate it without spending a lot of money! This look was inspired by my newest make-up purchase:

NYC City Proof twistable intense lip color in "Ballroom blush"
and duo eyeshadow "irresistible fox-trott" from Essence.

First we start off with a clean face, I just applied my moisturizer and lip balm

Then apply a primer to your eyelids. I used "I love stage eyeshadow base"
by Essence.

Apply a white/vanilla color to the inner third of your eye and under your brows.
I used "670 Vanilla & Charles" by Catrice.

Take a salmon nude color and use this in the middle of your eyelid and the outer corner.
I used the duo eyeshadow "irresistible fox-trott" from Essence.

Take a fluffy blending brush and use it to apply a golden brown color in your crease.
I used the golden color from the same duo.

Apply eyeliner, I made a wing but you can go for any shape you'd like.
I used Maybelline master precise liquid liner.

Apply your mascara and foundation. I used Lash Architect by L'oreal and
all-in-one CC cream by Essence.

Matify your face with translucent powder and apply blush. I used
Essence all about matt loose powder and rose gold blush by Sleek.

Don't forget your bronzer! Here I used Catrice sun glow matt bronzer in
030 medium bronze.

Fill in your brows with powder or pencil, I used the darkest color from
Catrice their eyebrow set. Last but not least, choose your favorite bold lipstick!
I chose a NYC City Proof twistable intense lip color in "Ballroom blush".

And this is the final look! Subtle yet vibrant and warm for spring and summer. You can leave the bold lipstick if you want a more natural look. Should I do more photo tutorials? Or do you prefer video?

This week I bought several new things that weren't really worth their own blog post, so I combined them into one mini haul. I was looking for some new sunglasses, preferably fake aviators, and some new face-wash and hand cream. H&M had some jewelry on sale (everything for €1,-!) so I couldn't stop myself from buying two pieces.

six €12,95

I've been looking for aviators that look good on me for ages. Most of them make my face
look really wide and/or my cheeks chubby. Last Tuesday
I walked into six, tried three sunglasses and then found these!
They are fake gold aviator sunglasses with a cute brown detail on the legs.

I've been wearing them 24/7 since Tuesday, definitely my best purchase.

Lush €12,70

I try to avoid lush most days, everything smells so good and I just keep buying things
I don't really need... But I was tempted and looking for a new cream to moisturize my hands
without making them greasy. So I bought this hand cream, it has
a neutral scent and it absorbs quickly into your skin.

H&M €1,-

I found this cute snake necklace in the sale section. I must admit I already have
loads of gold colored necklaces but for €1,- I couldn't leave it.

H&M €1,-

Same goes for this bow-bracelet, too cute to leave behind!

Kruidvat €7,99

I've been using this face wash for a few months now but I ran out
at the beginning of this week so I had to repurchase. It's a great face wash to get rid of make-up
or oil while leaving your skin soft and hydrated. It also smells really good!

I was also very tempted to buy "R&B" from lush (a leave in conditioner for curly hair) but I do really have to save money for my vacation so I put it on my wish-list. Did you guys make any good purchases this week?

Today I went on a sushi date with my best friend Sophie. We are both crazy about sushi, but somehow we never ate it together before. Last week we decided it was time to enjoy this Japanese delicacy in each others company and so today we went to Sumo in Haarlem. Needless to say it was great, we ate till we were completely stuffed and couldn't even take another bite.

While we were waiting on the bus home we made some outfit pictures, the sun was shining so the lighting was great. Excuse my squinty eyes, looking into the sun in pictures is never a very good idea.

What I'm wearing:
sunglasses: Ray Ban
top: HEMA
necklace: H&M
skirt: H&M
shoes: Primark

How was your sunday? And for all of you sushi-lovers out there, what's your favorite type of sushi?

It's almost April which means that soon my sweaters and tights can be moved to the back of my closet to make room for high waisted shorts and floral dresses. The weather forecast for this weekend is sunny and around 18 degrees Celsius, this got me so excited for summer that I went on an online shopping spree to fill up my spring/summer wardrobe. (I'm actually saving money for my trip to Blanes this summer, so many of these items will have to sit in my wish-list for a little longer before they can join my closet...)

H&M:

€9,95

Crop tops! A love it or hate it item but I definitely
love these ones for spring!

€34,95

I'm a little late to the peplum trend (it just didn't
look right with my figure) but now that I'm getting a breast reduction
I'm looking forward to adding them to my collection!

€19,95

Black is definitely the least tropical color out there, but still, you can never
go wrong with a little black dress, no matter what the season!
This one has trendy little cutouts on the side.
€14,95

Bustiers, like crop tops, are a love it or hate it item. Some of them look
a little too sexy for my taste but this one I would definitely wear, paired with
some high waisted shorts and converse sneakers.

€39,95

Kimonos! Probably my most-wanted item for this spring,
they look good with almost everything.

Forever 21:

€28,90

Wedges are my go to shoes in the summer, these floral ones would look
amazing under a flowy maxi skirt or dress.

€13,75

Staying with the floral trend, this playsuit is perfect for those
blazing hot summer days!

€17,75

Asymmetrical skirts are my favorite statement pieces,
they can easily transform your outfit from casual to classy.

€17,75

Another floral playsuit (what can I say, I'm a little obsessed),
this time with sunflowers which look a little more edgy than your typical flower print.

asos:

€81,74

You can never go wrong with denim shorts in spring/summer,
here they added a cute print to spice them up.

€32,29

Everything about this dress screams summer, a minty pop of color,
the lace and of course the short hemline.

€30,90

While I prefer wedges, sandals are the perfect summer shoes if
you are planning on walking all day. These leather ones look super comfy!

€70,23

Another kimono, this one has long sleeves and fringe
on the end

€11,94

A basic tee with tropical print.

Which items should I buy this spring/summer? And do you already have
a spring/summer wish-list?

Today I filmed my second Youtube video: "My Make-up Routine". The original length of this video was half an hour but usually it only takes me twenty minutes. I don't wear this much make-up everyday, probably only two to three times a week. The rest of the week I either wear mascara and concealer or nothing at all.

A list of all the products I used:

Eyes:
Essence I love stage eyeshadow base
Sleek au naturel palette
Maybelline master precise liquid eyeliner
L'oreal lash architect waterproof mascara
Essence long lasting eye pencil in 01 black fever

Face:
Essence all-in-one cc cream
Essence all about matt fixing loose powder
Catrice retouch light-reflecting concealer
Catrice lip and cheek colour in 03 Bed Of Flowers
Catrice sun glow matt bronzing powder medium skin
Catrice prime and fine highlighting powder
Catrice eyebrow set
HEMA eyebrow gel
Essence lipstick in 04 on the catwalk

What video would you like to see next?

It's spring! Spring is my second favorite season (no season can best summer) so I thought I'd post a simple recipe to celebrate. I've been eating this salad daily for the last week, it's just so easy and delicious! It's a basic recipe, so you can add or remove any ingredients and replace them with something else. For example the strawberries can easily be replaced with any other summer fruit; berries, pineapple or mango will also taste great!

Ingredients:
- lettuce (or spinach)
- 150 gram strawberries
- 1/6 cucumber, diced
- 18 gram goat cheese, crumbled

For the dressing:
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1/3 tablespoon agave syrup (or honey)

Preparation:
1. Combine lettuce, strawberries, cucumber and goat cheese on a plate. In a small bowl, whisk the oil, red wine vinegar, agave syrup and dried dill. Pour dressing over salad.

You can have this for lunch or as a side dish for dinner. It will taste great with grilled chicken. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Today I filmed my first youtube video; my shoe collection. I had actually planned on filming "My make-up routine" but I couldn't get proper lighting due to terrible weather. Bummer! So instead I decided to show you my favorite part of my closet.
(Note: this was really what my shoes looked like after filming...)

Most of my shoes are low-budget, I would say that 70% of them are either from Primark or H&M. The rest are from several other low budget stores (Bristol, Van Haren and yes even Blokker!). After filming my room was a mess, but I took that as an opportunity to reorganize my footwear. My flats and sandals don't fit on the shelves so I keep them separately in a box in my closet. Should I also film a closet tour? My feet are everything but "summer ready" (article idea?) so my apologies for that!

Since my blog is still quite new and I don't know in which exact direction I'm taking things yet, I thought I'd do a tag while I draft some more time consuming posts (Outfit of the day, my make-up routine etc.). I chose the "My Life In 20 Questions Tag" because it's quite simple but still very personal. Hope you guys enjoy!

I really can't choose one, but I love all purple and red tones! My current favorite is probably burgundy.

What's your favorite number?

Seven! I really don't know why though.

What's your dream career?

Acting definitely! Probably never going to happen but it says "dream career" so... I'm most likely going to study criminology next year, so criminologist would be a more realistic option.

I want to study in Amsterdam so probably there. But after that I would like to immigrate to LA, I've never been but it seems like the most perfect city ever.

Where is your favorite place to travel?

Anywhere warm! No but seriously, probably Spain because I was born there and being there makes me feel at home.

Chocolate. I have quite an addiction even though I'm trying to eat as healthy as possible. Next thing is music, I don't think anyone can live without some form of music in their life. Lastly... sunshine. I'm a big fan of the sun, a few rays can turn my whole mood around.

I can't sleep without...?

A bed! Some people have mastered the art of sleeping anywhere (trains, cars, the sidewalk etc.) but sadly I'm not one of them.

If you were given one million dollars all for yourself what would you do with it?

Buy a house in LA and move there for sure.

I have a celebrity crush on....?
